Advertising attracts attention. Turning it into a useful enquiry also depends on the destination page and what happens after the form. Before launch, follow the entire journey as a new customer, preferably on a phone.
1. A specific offer for a specific person
Write one sentence explaining who you help, with what, and the next step you offer. A consultation campaign needs different content from an offer for a particular product. If you can only describe general quality, start by clarifying the offer.
2. Match the ad and its destination
Visitors should recognise what they clicked on. Check the headline, conditions, price or quoting process, and main button. Sending every campaign to the homepage may be unsuitable: a general company introduction may not answer a specific ad offer.
3. Test the entire form journey
- Are fields and buttons comfortable to use on a phone?
- Are required fields clear?
- Does an invalid email show an error?
- Does a test message arrive in the right inbox?
- Does a server failure correctly show failure rather than success?
A “sent” message alone does not prove delivery. Testing must cover the inbox and the failure state.
4. Measure the actual step
Distinguish a button click, a form start and successful server acceptance. They are three different events. Align analytics and advertising measurement with the visitor’s consent choices; do not send names, email addresses or message content in events.
5. Assign an owner for enquiries
Decide who responds, where enquiries are recorded and how follow-up works. An automatic acknowledgement can reassure a customer but does not replace a useful reply. Record which contacts are suitable and which become orders.
6. Set the budget and decision rules first
Separate media spend from preparation and management fees. Decide what the test should establish, when to review it and which problems would pause the campaign. A few clicks are not enough to identify a reliable winner.
When ready to attract visitors, explore paid advertising. Gaps between a visit and a sales response can be addressed through sales funnels. If priorities are unclear, start with consulting.
